The Story Compass is entirely independent. There are no corporate backers, no publishing houses, and no secret algorithms driving it. It’s just a stubborn author (me!), a very confused survivor knitting in the various hubs around the world, and a Toshi who treats your left sock like stolen treasure. As another author once said, writing is a way to get paid for telling the stories from the characters in our head. I’ve worked many jobs in many industries, but I keep coming back to the keyboard. I can’t explain the love I have for unfolding an adventure and thinking of ways to express it with you. It’s a joy that is unmatched by humans, food, and any form of entertainment. And that $3.50, well… I’m hoping that if I get enough of those, I’ll be able to do this full time. That’s the dream. It’s as simple as that.
